What is Serve Day?

Serve Day is our annual outreach event that closes our Summer Group Season. It is an exciting opportunity for us, the local church, to go into our communities and love our neighbors. This summer, whether through a Group or by joining a Serve Day project, come be a part of serving our communities and sharing the love of Jesus through simple, practical acts of kindness.

Who can serve?

Everyone is welcome to participate! Whether you’re part of a group, coming with family, attending solo, new to church, or simply looking to get more connected and serve, there’s a project for you on Serve Day.

How do I plan a Serve project?

Get creative! Assess the needs of people in your neighborhood and around your community. Check out our list of ideas for ways to get involved. First time leading a project? Review our Project Leader Guide for a crash course on what to expect as a Serve Day Project Leader.

How do I communicate to the church which Serve Day project our group is planning?

We’d love to know how your group plans to participate in Serve Day. You can register your Serve Day project through the form HERE.

Do I need to sign up for a Serve project or can I just show up on Serve Day?

In order for all project participants to have the best experience and maximize impact, we ask that you sign up for a project in advance. Each project will have a certain number of volunteer openings designed to suit the size and scope of the project.

What if my project requieres me to purchase supplies?

Everyone is responsible for the costs associated with their project. We recommend spending time planning your project based on your group’s size, commitment level, and access to resources.

What do I wear?

Your Vertical Serve T-shirt, a smile, and clothing appropriate for your project (such as closed-toe shoes, gloves, etc.) are recommended for Serve Day!
You can pick up your Vertical Serve T-shirt during any Sunday service at Vertical Church.
